Elderly care research group is a multidisciplinary research group (incl. social gerontology, gerontological social work, health and social management, organization sciences), which addresses various elderly care management and organizational issues and the wellbeing of elderly from multi-agency perspectives. The effectiveness of services is also studied with different methodical approaches.

Elderly care research focuses mostly on following themes (see more on example articles).

1) Integration, management and quality in elderly care
2) The impact of environment (Inc. digital solutions) to wellbeing of the elderly people
3) Social exclusion in later life and gerontological social work
4) Private social services and informal care in service provision

In addition, the effectiveness of elderly care is evaluated in different levels. For instance, these studies focus on service provision level questions, like the effects of the integration or work method level questions, like the effects of participatory group-based care management.
