finished. 01.08.2019 - 01.08.2021

The FCLab.lukio project develops nature affiliated learning environments and recovery spaces by means of interior design and digital immersion. The goal is to enrich learning experiences, enhance study motivation and collaboration as well as to foster concentration and recovery from stress. The project engages the whole community, pupils, student teachers and teachers to design an inspiring working environment for everyone.

FCLab for Upper Secondary Schools is a project funded by the Finnish National Agency for Education. The project involves a range of research and collaboration with the University of Eastern Finland (UEF), Riveria Vocational College, the company Wood Artist, interior designer Hanna Puolakka and several others.

There are three types of learning spaces under construction:
1) Virtual Nature Space, which is a learning and recovery space that enables virtual nature experiences
2) Nature Nooks for guidance, group work and supervision to enhance users’ creative thinking and human-nature relationship
3) PedaLab – a multipurpose training, teaching and meeting space, which enables the implementation of immersive learning (360° videos, VR/AR, soundscape, simulations, gamification and AI enhanced learning applications).
