The project has been planned in cooperation with the local enterprises and research areas are based on the needs identified in the corporate network. New solutions aim at better products as well as completely new MIM technology solutions. Topics that have emerged include: Protecting MIM components under demanding conditions and related technology pilots, as well as controlled functionality in MIM composite components. The need for protection of MIM products is based not only on usability and life cycle, but also on the constant changes in new regulatory requirements and EU chemicals legislation.
The main objective of the project is to strengthen the regional MIM technology ecosystem. Research groups develop, test and evaluate material technologies that promote the competitiveness of companies. The technical objective of the proposed project, “MIM Components for Harsh Conditions”, is to find, through applied research, new methods to protect MIM components under demanding environment.
The results of the project will be new MIM technology expertise in field of coatings and functional components. The combinatory research strategy of the project seeks breakthroughs in MIM components for harsh conditions.
