Merja Karppinen

Dr. Merja Karppinen specializes in multicultural issues, knowledge creation and Asia/Japan  in International Business. Her international professional career spans teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities. She has extensive teaching experience at universities in Finland, France, Latvia, Japan, Australia, South Korea and South Africa. Her teaching philosophy is based on inspiring and motivating the students. She has also been supervising several theses and dissertations.

Dr. Karppinen has considerable practitioner experience in international business especially in Japan. For example, she has worked as a Business Development Director for Finpro and served as the head of the R&D Unit of a Finnish Japanese joint project in Japan.
