DPhil. , Adjunct professor Sinikka Vakimo acts as a lecturer in Cultural Studies. She is also the head of the Multicultural Dimensions of Health -study unit in Joensuu campus and the leader of DemOldCult – Research Project in 2019-2020.

Information Publications

Vakimo’s main interests in research include gender sensitive cultural gerontology, life course and life history as well as social interaction in the web, media representations, folk narratives and humor and research ethics. She has also specialized in qualitative research methods, ethnography, and oral history methodology.
