The main focus of my current research in WaterLANDS project is on wetland restoration. The aim is to identify and evaluate the most appropriate tools and measures to monitor the success of European wetland restoration based on existing scientific and practical knowledge.
In my PhD I studied the effect of logging residue harvesting/retention on upland forest soils after clear-cutting. A specific aim was to study how logging residue piles consisting of different tree species affect to soil nitrogen and carbon cycling.
