I hold a bachelor’s degree in agriculture and forestry from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan; a master’s degree in wood materials science from the University of Eastern Finland; and a Doctor of Science (DSc) in Agriculture and Forestry. My research involves the remediation of potentially toxic elements and rare earth elements from wastewater using perennial plants. As part of my postdoctoral research project, I am investigating the role of woody biochar in the restoration of boreal acidic peatlands.
