UEF Connect is published 25th September 2018. The accessibility requirements have guided the layout design of, and content production for, our new web service. The Web service is currently being developed to provide better information and further improve accessibility.
All of the University of Eastern Finland’s websites and web services, mobile applications and content available on these must be accessible. The accessibility requirements are based on the Act on the Provision of Digital Services and on the EU’s Web Accessibility Directive. Accessibility in a digital environment means that as many people as possible are able to use the digital services provided despite user, situation or technology specific differences.
We are committed to enhancing the accessibility of our digital services, and we are continuously working to improve it. For users to whom our digital services remain inaccessible, we offer special support. If this is the case, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Accessibility status of the digital service
Partially compliant with the accessibility requirements. There is some content on the web service which accessibility will be improved as the web service is updated in year 2021.
- Alternative texts for the videos of personal profiles and research groups are not directly with the embedded data. The embedded video field will be developed so that an alternative text can be included directly in the embedding.
- Profile pages’ headings are not entirely logical. Specification and formatting of heading setting are updated.
Non-accessible content has been detected in this service. It concerns some of the files added by the content providers. Guidance and training of the large group of users will take time. We are constantly working to make files more accessible.
Not covered by legislation
Web service may contain office suite files (e.g. doc, pdf, odt) which have been published before 23 September 2018 added by the content providers.
