Information Publications

I work as a post-doctoral researcher in the Research Council of Finland’s UNITE Flagship. My research focuses on human–forest relationships, including people’s experiences of forests, the meanings they assign to them, and their cultural and institutional dimensions.

In my doctoral dissertation, I examined both conceptually and empirically the human–forest relationships (HFRs) of Finnish forest professionals and how these relationships are formed, how they shape professional identity, and how they manifest in forest-related conflicts and the sustainability transition.

I am also involved in science communication and teaching, including courses on human–forest relationships and conflict management.

I serve as a coordinator of IUFRO’s Research Group 6.05 Forest conflict management. In addition, I am a member of the Finnish Society of Forest Science’s disciplinary subgroup, the Human-Forest Relationship Research Club, and co-host the Coffee Talks on Human–Forest Relationships series in collaboration with international networks.
