I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Technical Physics (Kuopio), currently working to develop near-infrared spectroscopy as a diagnostic tool for various tissue types by relating spectral data to lipidomics and histopathological scoring.
I have a diverse academic background in chemical ecology, analytical chemistry, biogeochemistry, and microbiology; I completed my MSc in environmental biology with a minor in environmental law at UEF Joensuu, and my PhD in green chemical technology at LUT Mikkeli. Between my MSc and PhD, I studied methane cycling in the anoxic deep ocean at the University of Southern Denmark. In addition to my academic experience, I have professional experience in renewable energy policy consulting in Djibouti and industrial biotechnology in the USA.
