Kenny is a researcher in European Union (EU) energy law, particularly its doctrinal, empirical, and institutional aspects.
He is currently researching the involvement of the Court of Justice of the European Union in developing the general doctrine of EU energy law, in particular the discipline’s core principles. His research is part of the INTEL (funded by the European Research Council, 2024-2029) and FOUNDATIONS (funded by the Research Council of Finland, 2024-2028) projects.
His research interests broadly include energy, environmental and climate law; sustainability law; European Union law; and international law.
He is a qualified legal practitioner with previous practical experience in energy transactions and projects, and holds degrees in both Law and Economics from the University of Sydney.
