This research and development programme consists of several sub-projects and work packages with the shared aim of generating evidence-based knowledge and developing effective models to support the occupational well-being of health care educators. The programme responds to the growing need to understand and promote educators’ recovery, resilience, and sustainable careers in rapidly changing educational and work environments.

Occupational well-being is approached holistically, combining individual and organizational perspectives. Special attention is paid to recovery from work, symptoms of burnout, and the development needs related to occupational well-being. The goal is to strengthen the work ability and retention of health care educators both nationally and internationally.

The long-term objective of the programme is to build an internationally applicable, evidence-based occupational well-being programme for health care educators. The results will support the quality of education, educators’ well-being at work, and the overall attractiveness of the education sector.

Research funding is being sought from various sources for the sub-projects and work packages, and the programme is planned to launch in early 2026.
