Allocation and Impact of Physician Health Examinations in School Health Care (KouluTK) study explores the role of school doctors and operational models of school health services in North Savo, Finland. The study aims to determine whether the limited physician resources in school health care can be more effectively allocated to those who need them most through needs-based targeting, screened by school nurses, thereby generating greater health benefits.
In addition, the study seeks to clarify the role of the school physician, identify situations where their involvement is genuinely necessary, and explore the perceived benefits of medical examinations and the factors that shape these perceptions.
The study is conducted in collaboration with the University of Eastern Finland, Wellbeing services county of North Savo, the University of Helsinki, and Western Uusimaa wellbeing services county.
