As a doctoral researcher in the Spacefen project, I’m combining field measurements with mulit-source and -scale remote sensing data, like drone, aerial and satellite imagery, to characterize spatiotemporal dynamics of palsa mires in the fennoscandian tundra. Palsas are peat mounds containing a permafrost core and are likely to vanish within this century under current climate scenarios. My research aims to better understand palsa life cycles, degradation processes and climate feedbacks.
