Call 2019 KA203 Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education
The project builds on an existing summer school on consulting on digital transformation projects in close cooperation with consultancy firms.
The core aim of the project is the design and delivery of a blended course on digital management consulting made of three self-standing e-learning modules and an experiential-based intensive training programme.
I am a former communications professional who currently holds the position of Senior Lecturer in Innovation Management. Additionally, I have been honored with the title of Docent in Organizational Communication by the University of Tampere. My doctoral degree, obtained in 2007, focused on Organizational Communication and Public Relations, and was awarded by the University of Jyväskylä. Following the completion of my PhD, I joined the faculty in 2010.
My research pursuits encompass various areas, including appreciative organizational renewal, the creation of value through communication consultancy, exploration of learning and communication within virtual communities, and innovative pedagogical approaches within business education. Within the realm of teaching, I cover subjects such as introductory marketing, organizational communication, change management (including instruction through Erasmus exchange programs), and qualitative research methods.
I was involved in the Flipped Classroom development project of the UEF since its beginning and I also lead the pedagogical development team at the Business School. My commitment to excellence in teaching was acknowledged in 2017 when I received the Excellent Teaching Practitioner Award from the University of Eastern Finland. Throughout 2021 and 2022, I played an integral role in advancing online and blended learning pedagogy at our university by serving as a member of the digital pedagogy facilitator team.
Dr. Kaisa Huhta is an Associate professor of European law, especially energy law at the UEF Law School and at the Centre for Climate Change, Energy and Environmental Law. She also holds a part-time professorship at the European University Institute’s Florence School of Regulation. In addition to her professorships, Dr. Huhta is the Associate Editor of the Journal of Energy and Natural Resources Law. She is also an expert member of the Finnish Market Court and actively carries out consultancy work in the field of EU and Finnish energy law.
Dr Huhta’s research focuses on EU energy law. She is the principal investigator of the INTEL project (funded by the European Research Council, 2024-2029) and the FOUNDATIONS project (funded by the Academy of Finland, 2024-2028), which seek to develop the foundations of energy law in Europe. She is also a work package leader in the RELIEF project (2023-2026), funded by the Strategic Research Council, which studies the role of law in sustainability transformations.
Dr. Huhta has published in top level international journals such as the European Law Review, the International and Comparative Law Quarterly and Global Environmental Change. In total, she has published more than 70 peer-reviewed journal articles, books, book chapters, expert statements and other publications. Previously, she has been a visiting researcher at the University of Oxford, the European University Institute (EUI), the University of Tilburg, the University of Iceland and the University of Waikato.
Dr. Huhta’s lecturing responsibilities at the UEF Law School has covered courses in general EU law as well as energy law. She supervises Master’s theses in energy law and EU law. She also teaches research methodologies to doctoral researchers. She is available to supervise doctoral candidates in the field of energy law.
At UEF, Kateryna Holzer leads a project on Regulatory Cooperation on Carbon Standards (RECOSTA), a work package in a project on Voluntary carbon offsetting in (climate) action: Perception coalitions, representations, and regulation (OFFCORR) and a Joint Nordic Master’s Programme (NOMPEL) course on International Economic Law and Green Transitions.
She has been working in climate change and energy research, teaching and consultancy since 2009, with a focus on trade rules and measures stimulating green economy transition and sustainable development. Kateryna is a member of the Climate Change and International Environmental Law research group at the Center for Climate Change, Energy and Environmental Law (CCEEL), the Platform on International Energy Governance, Climate Strategies and a board member of the Swiss Energy Law Association.
She was formerly a visiting scholar at the WTO Trade and Environment Division and worked as a postdoc at the World Trade Institute in Bern and as an assistant professor at the Academy of Foreign Trade in Kyiv. Kateryna holds a PhD in Law and a Master of International Law and Economics from the University of Bern, as well as a PhD in Economics from Ukraine, a Master of International Management from the Ukrainian Academy of Foreign Trade and a Bachelor of Economics from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
Dr Tuula Honkonen is an expert in international environmental law. Her broad-based expertise ranges from climate law questions and functioning of multilateral environmental agreements to national implementation of international genetic resources regulation and operation of transboundary water agreements. Dr Honkonen’s current research interests lie in climate law and participation in climate policymaking in particular, the dynamics of multilateral environmental agreements, and water diplomacy. Dr. Honkonen has extensive experience in teaching, journal editing, consultancy and reporting work, research project management and the preparation and facilitation negotiation simulation exercises for international environmental law-making courses. In her research, she seeks to combine the legal perspective to practical policy-making, both at the national and international levels.
