The aim of EUMINDA project is to find and develop ways and methods to recognize, balance and repair harmful effects of mining on societies and the environment. The key themes of the project include legal perspectives, socio-economic issues, and sustainability. In collaboration with the Regional Council of North Karelia and local stakeholders, the project will produce a sustainable mineral economy roadmap for the region, aimed at providing an overall picture of North Karelia’s mineral economy and supporting its development and growth. The project involves 12 partners from nine different countries: Finland, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Greece, the Czech Republic, Spain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Ukraine. From Finland, in addition to the University of Eastern Finland, the Regional Council of North Karelia is also participating.
