The aim of the pedagogical support for university students (FILOpedatuki) project is to understand the need for learning support and to model pedagogical support practices so that they can be utilized across faculty and unit boundaries. Building an inclusive university is not the responsibility of individual actors at the university (e.g., teaching or research staff, administrative staff) or networks of these actors, but rather the responsibility of everyone in order to promote accessibility and student well-being. Pedagogical support, which is based on inclusive pedagogy and learning-oriented approaches, examines teaching practices that support all students. The aim of the project is to support all university students, regardless of whether they have learning-related support needs or not. The purpose of pedagogical support for learning is not to lower learning objectives, but to enable equal learning conditions for all.
The purpose of this project is to implement research-based modeling of the current state of learning support at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Eastern Finland from the perspectives of students and staff. Based on this, the aim is first to develop a learning-oriented pedagogical support model that utilizes the perspectives of students and staff, and then to use this information to design and implement training for the staff of the Faculty of Philosophy.
