Freeze-drying of biologicals

In many cases, the stability of biological drugs (petides, proteins, vaccines etc.) is poor in solutions. In order to increase the stability of biologicals freeze-drying is used to transform solutions into the solid dosage forms with stabilizing excipients. Our freeze-drying research has mostly focused on the optimization of freeze-drying formulations and process parameters. We have facilities to perform the formulation and process optimization of freeze-drying from the microliter scale to over thousand vials with the instrumented pilot-scale freeze-dryer.
