Innovation management research group addresses the questions of organizing, managing and business. Our research emphasizes the perspectives of responsible and sustainable renewal and innovation and the making of novel futures. We work in two profile areas of the University of Eastern Finland: Health, Lifestyle and Aging (HEALTHLIFE) and Environmental Change and Sufficiency of Natural Resources (SUSTENVIRON). In these profile areas, we are members in two research communities: Multidisciplinary brain health (NEURO) and Sustainable resource society (RESOURCE).

Renewing organizations, management, and business are key drivers for responsible and sustainable activities. Societal challenges of our time encourage new organizations to be built and urge existing ones to renew their products, services and themselves. In these processes, access to the best critical thinking and practice-based research is essential. Our mission is to provide such research in collaboration with our various partners. Our researchers have an excellent track record in innovation management research and related societal impact, which combines business studies with other sciences for the purpose of bridging the worlds of research and practice. Method-wise, our work draws from qualitative methods, which is a key area of our scientific competence.
