Lean Work Gender (LeWoGe)
Research group
Lean production is one of the most popular ways to organise work and services globally including Finland. Lean intends to remove any kind of waste and inconsistency in the production system, and make process flow streamlined and efficient. Lean has become a huge education and consultation business in public sector services. However we know very little about how Lean is “sold”, how it physically changes work, what kinds of affects it bring to the workplace and how workers resist and thereby make their own trajectories in and with Lean. This project begins to fill that void in social scientific research.
