The project aims to:
– Refine the national traffic forecast of the rail network with alternative scenarios (model probable passenger traffic flows in a situation where the Eastern Railway has been implemented)
– Examine the connection between accessibility and the socio-economic development of Eastern Finnish regions (and assess what will happen to the socio-economic development of the regions in the future in a situation where the Eastern Railway has improved accessibility)
