Legislative studies is a subject and research group operating at the UEF Law School. Legislative studies can be structured into two main areas: 1) examining questions related to the quality of law drafting and legislative processes at a general level, and 2) examination of individual legal or regulatory projects. At a general level, our main interests are related to, for example, the following topics: regulatory impact assessment, regulatory alternatives, shareholder participation, etc. The analyses of individual regulatory projects are related to topics such as ex post impact assessment or examination enforcement practices of a certain legislation. In summary, our aim is to produce information for decision makers to improve regulation and to build more functional regulation together with stakeholders.

The legislative studies research group consists of professor Anssi Keinänen (head of the research group), university lecturer Niko Vartiainen and doctoral researcher Risto Tuominen.
