4. Production of teaching material
  • Contribution in identifying family and community nurses’ professional profile and 28 competencies
  • Family and community nurses’ core competencies extracted from the WHO framework for family health nurses (2000) and WHO framework for community nursing education (2010) through a Delphi study were reviewed and commented on.

The important issue regarding the localized curricula was to identify the learning outcomes that need more attention in Finnish pilot. Therefore, a workshop was organized at UEF in collaboration with Alternative Path to the University project (TRY project). The workshop included experts in the field of public health nurse and community nurse planning who had more than  10 years of work experience in the field and were active in the research field such as projects organized by the YHDESSÄ (children, young people and families services), Siilinjärvi Health municipality (promoting well-being), Mieli (Family safety project 2018-2020). Additionally, nursing students and public health nurses were in attendance. The TRY project is a national project in Finland that aims to develop, pilot and establish different paths to higher education in addition to the previous methods. For more information about TRY project please visit:  https://www.avoin.jyu.fi/en/openuniversity/projects/alternative-path/alternative-path-to-  university For more information about family and community nurse curriculum at the UEF please visit: https://www.enhance-fcn.eu/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/UEF-FCN-Curriculum_updated-compressed.pdf Also please see D.3.3-part A and D.3.3-part B presented in section 6 of teaching portfolio
