Moritz Petersmann is a doctoral researcher at the Center for Climate Change, Energy and Environmental Law. His research investigates interactions between science, policy, and law through a comparative study of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). A central objective of this work is to draw lessons for the newly established Intergovernmental Science-Policy Panel on Chemicals, Waste and Pollution (ISP-CWP). Moritz’ research is funded by the Kone Foundation.
At the UEF Law School, Moritz teaches postgraduate courses on International Environmental Law and Global Environmental Politics.
Moritz is an independent affiliate with the International Institute for Sustainable Development, where he reports from international environmental negotiations on climate change, biodiversity, and chemical pollution as Writer for the Earth Negotiations Bulletin.
He holds a BSc. in Environmental Sciences and a MSc. in Sustainability Sciences from Leuphana University, Germany.
