My research project is focused on the identification and characterization of novel non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), in particular long intergenic ncRNAs (lincRNAs), enhancer RNAs (eRNAs), and micro-RNAs (miRNAs) involved in the regulation of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factors (VEGFs) gene expression, and the study of mechanisms by which VEGF-signaling itself regulates the expression of ncRNAs in human endothelial cells. Our study will lay a foundation to decipher the regulatory events that control the developmental and pathological angiogenesis.
