I am a Doctoral Researcher at the Research Center for Sustainable Circular Economy CECE and the Sustainable Innovation Lab SUN LAB.
My research focuses on the Circular Economy in electric mobility, with a particular emphasis on a System Dynamics approach to the recycling of battery metals.
I aim to understand and model the complex interactions within value chains, policies, and environmental systems to support sustainable transitions in mobility and materials use.
I work as an Senior Researcher at the Department of Nursing Science at the University of Eastern Finland.
I work as a university researcher at the Department of Nursing Science at the University of Eastern Finland. My research focuses on treatment adherence among people with chronic illnesses, the role of social support, and the development of patient education. In my doctoral dissertation, I examined treatment adherence among patients with coronary artery disease after percutaneous coronary intervention. The study highlighted patients’ individual challenges as well as concrete strategies to support their long-term engagement in care.
Currently, I lead a research project aimed at developing patient education for individuals with atrial fibrillation, in collaboration with both national and international partners. The goal is to strengthen patients’ active role in their care process and to develop approaches that address their individual educational needs.
In addition, I explore occupational well-being in the field of education – particularly the stressors and well-being-promoting factors affecting healthcare educators and students.
The aim of my research is to produce impactful and practice-oriented knowledge that supports both patient well-being and occupational well-being in the higher education context, especially within continuously evolving environments.
My primary responsibilities include the UEF Connect service and customer relationship management development projects.
In UEF Connect, my focus is on the development and maintenance of the service, including interfaces with other services. In customer relationship management, I am responsible for developing the target state and operating model, as well as participating in system development. Additionally, I participate in reporting related to research and external funding, as well as other support functions (such as forms).
I work as a postdoctoral researcher on a research project examining disengagement or disaffiliation from long-term religious communities, close relationships between those who have left and those who remain in the community, and experiences of place. I also teach social psychology part-time.
My previous research has focused on everyday intergroup contact. I have worked on the FriendMUM project, which examines intercultural friendships between mothers with immigrant and Finnish backgrounds in a friendship program. My doctoral research was conducted as part of the Mamanet project and focused on encounters between mothers of young children and everyday segregation in multi-ethnic neighbourhoods. More broadly, I am interested in how everyday interactions in different contexts shape people’s experiences and intergroup relations in increasingly diverse communities. I have also contributed to research projects examining national symbols and local environmental threats. In my research, I use a range of qualitative approaches.
Alongside my research, I have taught social psychology courses on topics including intergroup relations, mental health and wellbeing, and environmental social psychology. I am also interested in teaching practices that support inquiry-based learning and curiosity.
I work in the Faculty of Science, Forestry and Technology as an academic affairs specialist in education planning and implementation. I participate in the preparation and execution of the faculty’s decisions and documents related to education, as well as in developing education. My core duties include student admissions, cross-institutional studies, general study counselling, communications, curriculum work and supporting development initiatives, as well as daily study administration tasks.
