The study examines recent changes in the operating environment of regional towns, how these changes affect the renewal capacity of regional towns, how regional towns should respond to these changes, and how regional towns themselves can strengthen their renewal capacity. The study also proposes a set of indicators that can be used to measure the renewal capacity of regional towns and investigates what special characteristics regional towns have in light of the indicators of renewal capacity.
