My research explores how plants respond to volatile signals emitted by their specialist insects, and how climate change and pollution affect these chemical interactions. By combining approaches from plant chemistry, physiology, and insect behaviour, I aim to understand the mechanisms driving these responses and their ecological consequences.

Holding a PhD in Environmental Science, I investigated how wild and cultivated plant species respond to various stressors, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs) released by neighbouring plants. Those studies laid the groundwork for my current focus on plant responses to insect-derived VOCs.

Beyond academia, I am an herbalist and herb farmer, and the founder of Nordiska Örter, the first medicinal herb farm in Sweden. Through this initiative and other social entrepreneurial projects, I promote sustainable local food systems, ecological cultivation, and a lifestyle that reconnects people with plants and their environment.
