CREA - Creating Dialogue in Embodied Action

Research group
School of Applied Educational Science and Teacher Education, Philosophical Faculty

This research group explores the ways in which student teachers of home economics and craft create culturally responsive learning spaces for dialogical hands-on learning. Together with local stakeholders student teachers plan and implement participatory workshops for culturally diverse learners. The practical orientation in both subjects offer a special space for dialogical learning that can support two-way integration. As dialogic learning has shown to have the potential to increase mutual understanding and respectful encounters, the research activities focus on co-creating dialogue in embodied action. The results will contribute to building the capacity of student teachers in culturally and linguistically responsive pedagogy. Through this research approach, internationalisation will be integrated into craft and home economics teacher education programmes in order to prepare future teachers with employability skills.
