As a doctoral researcher I am studying the changes in the Arctic as a part of the NordBorN project
Department of Geographical and Historical Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences and Business Studies
My research focuses on mapping changes in plant communities, species richness, biodiversity, environmental factors because of the ongoing greening in the Arctic. My main data sources come from drone and satellite images that I use to monitor long-term and large-scale changes in the environment. This visual information I also combine with field data, for instance species, biomass and soil information. To take things a bit further, I am utilizing machine learning and AI in my research.
