My research focuses on understanding the interconnected roles of freshwater and terrestrial ecosystems. The aim is to investigate how anthropogenic changes in the freshwater cycle affect the processes of freshwater-supported terrestrial ecosystems. I work in a project where we study shifts in the global freshwater cycle, the human influences driving these changes, and the impacts on the Earth system. Our goal is to identify just and viable solutions to protect the essential freshwater functions that are vital in the Earth system.
