Leaders

Our research focuses in particular on the regulation of chemicals and medicinal products at national, EU and international levels. On chemicals, we study for example the regulation of nanomaterials (including nanomedicines) and other advanced materials, but we also carry out other environmental law research, currently related to the conservation of pollinators. We also conduct research on the circular economy, carbon markets, and green and sustainable public procurement, and we are responsible for teaching the Circular Economy in the Legal Context course at the UEF Law School. In pharmaceutical law, we focus on issues such as the development and manufacture of medicines, marketing authorisations, pricing and reimbursement, drug safety and the environmental impact of pharmaceuticals.

We work closely with several Finnish and international partners in the fields of pharmacy, environmental science, forestry and environmental law, among others.
