The project Empowering Social Work Practice Education in Nepal (ESWPEN) strengthens the development and long-term sustainability of the social work profession in Nepal. It is implemented from 2026 to 2028 in collaboration with Tribhuvan University, Mid-Western University, Purbanchal University, the University of Ostrava (Czech Republic), UNED (Spain), and the Social Work Association of Nepal (SWAN).
The project aims to develop social work practice education by creating a training module for field practice supervisors, a collaboration protocol between universities and field agencies, and a practice supervision guide. Its objective is to enhance the quality of social work education and improve conditions for supervised field practice for students in Nepal.
ESWPEN is implemented through three core principles: a practice-oriented yet theory-based approach, contextualisation to Nepal’s social and cultural environment, and the creation of sustainable, long-term structures to support social work education.
