Our research group is committed to mitigating the symptoms of neurodegenerative diseases in animal models. We utilize cutting-edge genetic tools, such as optogenetics (optoTrkB) to enhance neural plasticity, and CRISPR/dCas9 techniques to manage epigenetic modifications. We specifically concentrate on the role and functionality of dysfunctional interneurons. In addition, we are involved in collaborative projects centered around CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing of human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).

We are seeking Master’s students, including those participating in Erasmus traineeships, to join our team and undertake groundbreaking research for their thesis work. We encourage you to contact us for additional information or to engage in further discussions.
