We research the experience of dignity in Finnish society. We collected stories (n = 970) from people of different ages and in different life situations in cooperation with the cities of Tampere, Lahti, and Kuopio. In our analysis, citizens’ experiences of dignity were structured into four categories: supportive relationships, appreciation of the community, agency, and life’s horizons.
