I am working in a project funded by PostDocs in Companies (PoDoCo). This study is being performed in close collaboration of our research group at A.I. Virtanen Institute for Molecular Sciences, UEF and Finnadvance. My project aims to develop a completely new, human-based olfactory-brain-on-a-chip device. This chip will utilize primary mucosal cells from healthy individuals, and individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Successful production of this platform will improve the therapeutic and pharmaceutical development pipeline, while also minimizing our reliance on animal testing.
