My field of research is Social and Public Policy, especially Rural Research. My dissertation examines the changing role of citizen participation in rural welfare services, and my special field is civic participation and civic action in the rural context, and the relationship between the civil society and the welfare state. My current research themes are rural service networks, social economy/community-led service production, village security, digital exclusion, multi-local living and care.

I work as a Senior Specialist in the theme network of the National Rural Policy Council (MANE): Habitability, living and integrating in rural areas. I am also a member of the Secretariat of the Council for Rural Policy. I work in networks and working groups consisting of representatives of science, politics, and civil society.
