The Nanomaterials for THz and Biophotonics Group, led by Prof. Polina Kuzhir, conducts advanced research on nanomaterials for electromagnetic, optical, and quantum sensing. The group’s expertise spans:
– Terahertz science with low-dimensional materials, focusing on THz detectors, perfect absorbers, and emitters.
– Quantum and optical sensing using color centers in diamond and carbon-based quantum dots.
– Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) for ultrasensitive molecular detection.
