Doctoral candidate at the Social and Cultural Encounters Doctoral School, Department of Geographical and Historical Studies.

With a solid background in Social Sciences, BA in Public Administration and MSSc in Human Geography, I explore perceptions of borders and cross-border perceptions in the Finnish-Russian and US-Mexican border context in my dissertation.
Already from the first semester of my undergraduate studies I have been schooled in methodology and philosophy of science. With a strong technical foundation, I enjoy working interdisciplinary when analysing a problem. I have a broad interest, but my main focus and expertise is in borders and boundaries in different shapes and forms both within and between nation states.
