Early Stage Researcher

I am currently working as an early-stage researcher, focusing on my PhD thesis, entitled "Studies on quantitative accuracy of gated myocardial perfusion SPECT". Gated myocardial perfusion SPECT (GMPS) is a study which focuses on examining the function of left ventricle of heart in addition to myocardial perfusion. A novel application of GMPS is quantification of left ventricular mechanical dyssynchrony with phase analysis, the results of which have potential to identify patients who could benefit from cardiac resynchronization therapy.

In my thesis, I investigate how certain physical phenomena affect the results obtained from GMPS, especially the results obtained from phase analysis. The phenomena of interest include image noise level, respiratory motion and heart rate variability.
