Leaders
Research in Prodrugs and Drug Delivery group focuses on the chemistry-based methods, especially prodrugs, to overcome drug delivery liabilities of problematic drugs and drug candidates. Our current research is centered on leveraging the body’s natural transport mechanisms for transporting amino acids and glucose, the LAT1 and GLUT1 proteins, respectively, for targeted delivery of drugs and boron carriers for BNCT across the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and cancer cells that express these transporters.
