Project consortium in kick-off meeting in Stavanger, Norway.

There is a mismatch with the capacity and demands in European elderly care. This results in high workloads, increasing stress levels, and lowers mental wellbeing of  healthcare workers in elderly care. These factors collectively highlights the urgent need for effective strategies to retain skilled personnel. In the Support4Resilience project, 14 research organisations aims to assist these issues by offering leaders and work communities tools to enhance the work burden and pressures.

Recognizing the pivotal role of leadership in creating positive and supportive working environments, the S4R project is set to develop a toolbox of research-based measures which are designed to assist leaders in enhancing working conditions and offering training and development opportunities. UEF research team is responsible for leading the work package 1 (preparing the data collection) and also responsible for conducting a cost-effectiveness analysis of developed S4R Toolbox  in Finland and Norway home services. From Finland, also Turku University of Applied Sciences (Mental health promotion research group) is part of the S4R project.

The S4R consortium comprises 14 partners from 9 countries. The University of Stavanger (Norway), with Prof. Siri Wiig, leads the project. Partners include several European universities: Stefan Cel Mare University of Suceava (Romania), Erasmus University Rotterdam (Netherlands), Jaume I University of Castellón and Jaume I University-Businness Foundation (Spain), University of Cyprus (Cyprus), Scuola Superiore Di Studi Universitari e di Perfezionamento S Anna (Italy), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway) and associated partner, the Australian Institute of Health Innovation of the Macquarie University (Australia). In addition, the project involves European Forum for Primary Care (Netherlands), International Society for Quality in Health Care CLG (Ireland) and Casa Cardinale Maffi Foundation (Italy).
