Tarit Kumar Baul is currently working as a Project Researcher at University of Eastern Finland (UEF) (on leave from Professor, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh). Since 2011 he has been working as a faculty member at the Institute of Forestry and Environmental Sciences (IFES), University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. He holds a Doctoral Degree in Forestry from the UEF, with MSc in Agroforestry (Bangor University, UK), MSc in Agri. Dev. (Copenhagen University, Denmark), and MSc and BSc in Forestry (IFES, Bangladesh). The main research focus is on the climate impacts of carbon sequestration and material substitution by forest biomass, with implications on the management of forests, agroforests, and tree outside forests (TOF). This includes LCA, ecosystem- and techno-carbon, and substitution impacts analyses. His research is also focused on nature based solution (e.g., urban forests) to environmental pollution, conservation, utilization, and management of biodiversity, and forests-people-climate interaction, with emphasis on indigenous knowledge.
