The Finnish Wave – Fostering Creative Industry Innovation and Export Growth through Cross-Industry Synergies

The planned Finnish Wave project seeks to unite Finland’s creative industries and tourism sector to develop exportable experiences for global markets. The initiative responds to the fragmented nature of Finnish creative industries, which currently limits innovation and international growth. Inspired by global success stories such as the Korean Wave, the project aims to build a Finnish equivalent through a digital platform-based ecosystem.

The Co-Creation phase will evaluate the feasibility of the Finnish Wave concept, assess international demand, and establish a strong business consortium for a future Co-Innovation project. Key activities include industry workshops, international traveller surveys, benchmarking successful models abroad, and developing a platform solution in collaboration with Elämys Group. Over six months, the project will lay the groundwork for creating 3–5 internationally scalable experience concepts.
