The history of Lieksa covers the history of the municipality of Pielisjärvi, the market town of Lieksa, and the city of Lieksa from the 1920s to the present day. History is studied by looking back at the past, but with an orientation towards the future, following the lines of change and development. The group of authors consists of Alina Kuusisto, Mikko Kohvakka, Jani Karhu, and Jenni Merovuo.
