I work as a project researcher in the GuideGap project, where we study the adherence to Finnish Current Care Guidelines and Choosing Wisely recommendations in prescribing decisions together with the associated factors using a multi-method approach. At the same time, I am working on my doctoral dissertation, which focuses on the continuity of care in primary healthcare: its potential causal link to the utilization and costs of specialized healthcare, as well as the mediating factors of this potential relationship. In the GuideGap project, we specifically examine the role of continuity of care as a factor in guideline adherence.
My research primarily involves registry-based studies with large datasets. I hold degrees in social science and health economics from University of Eastern Finland and University of Helsinki. Additionally, I serve as a senior specialist at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare working with the Performance indicators used in the statutory assessment of the Finnish social and health care system.
