Valeria Iannone has a multidisciplinary background on diet, microbiome, and host and she investigates how these factors influence overall gut health and have an impact on other metabolic diseases related tissues. Currently she is working as a Postdoctoral researcher in the Cell2Eat project (Research Council of Finland decision number 339184) focused on characterization of beneficial gut effects of novel plant-based proteins to understand molecular mechanisms involved in diet-microbiome-gut interaction. She got a PhD on 8th of May 2024 at University of Eastern Finland (Marjukka Kolehmainen’s lab). During her Marie Skłodowska-Curie ITN PhD program (BestTreat-consortium, Grant Agreement No. 813781) she explored metabolic events associated with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and investigated the effects a novel promising microbiome-based therapeutic strategy for the management of MASLD in mouse model.
