Research Group on Management of boreal forests under risks and uncertainties
Research Group on Management of boreal forests under risks and uncertainties, led by prof. Heli Peltola, focus on sustainable management and use of boreal forests for different ecosystem services, while considering the changing operating environment, multiple climatic risks to forests, and the need to adapt to, and mitigate, climate change. The development and applications of different forest ecosystem and risk modelling, and life cycle assessment tools provide science-based support for climate smart management and utilisation of forest resources.
