The “Maker@Women-STEM” project aims to close the gender gap in STEM fields (LUMA: natural sciences and mathematics), especially in Latin America, where women are underrepresented.
Although women’s university enrollment has increased, they face higher dropout rates and lower representation in STEM fields due to discrimination, stereotypes, and lack of support.
The project emphasizes the use of Maker Education, which focuses on hands-on, project-based learning, and aims to equip women with key skills to succeed in STEM fields. The
project includes hands-on, project-based learning, collaboration, and the use of digital tools to foster creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking among women in STEM fields.
