Vijay Lakshmi Burman

I am a Doctoral Researcher in Accounting and Finance with a broad research portfolio covering accounting, corporate finance, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility (CSR), sustainable accounting, sustainability practices, and circular economy applications in healthcare and SMEs. My work focuses on understanding how financial systems, governance mechanisms, and sustainability-oriented strategies influence organizational outcomes and societal value creation.

I employ quantitative and mixed‑method research methodologies, integrating advanced statistical and econometric approaches to investigate complex financial and sustainability-related questions. I am proficient in STATA and R, with extensive experience in handling large datasets, performing rigorous empirical analyses, and generating evidence-based insights.

In addition to my academic research, I actively contribute as a working member on several EU-funded research projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across institutions. Through these projects, I engage in applied research, data analysis, reporting, and dissemination activities that support the advancement of sustainable, transparent, and innovative practices within organizations and broader society.

My overarching aim is to produce research that is academically rigorous, socially relevant, and aligned with the future needs of sustainable and responsible business.
